Hi, my name is Aaron Martinenko. I'm a camera specialist living in the Twin Cities. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison’s Film Program in 2012. My next step was working at ProVideo & Film, Inc. (later Mirror 34 Productions) where I utilized a wonderful opportunity to learn everything I could about the video industry with hundreds of unique on-set experiences.
Now in the freelance world, I live my life behind the camera as a Director of Photography, Camera Operator, and Assistant Camera. I thrive on set. Nothing compares to the rush and satisfaction of collaborating with the crew and client on the singular goal of creating engaging video content.
It is that compulsive pursuit of perfection that keeps me driven to perfect my craft.
I find inspiration from the everyday world, by utilizing and imitating natural light through a myriad of methods I've observed and practiced over the years. Those methods are also complemented by a situational awareness of when to use stylization in order to better convey the ultimate vision.
I love living and working in the Twin Cities, and also discovering the unique culture it has to offer. When I'm not on set, I search out new restaurants, enjoy live music, and experience the outdoors as much as the Minnesota weather will allow. Though I don’t know exactly what the future will hold for me and my career, I’m confident that my already significant skill set will broaden and deepen as I gain more opportunities on set, with your help.
HOW I CAN HELP
My expertise extends to a multitude of video forms and approaches: high-budget productions, interviews & B-roll, event videography, long and short-form narrative work, and corporate branded marketing video.
I have experience working with popular camera systems from RED, Arri, Sony, Canon, Blackmagic, Phantom, and Panasonic. I'm comfortable handling numerous camera support systems including jibs, dollies, 3-axis gimbals, sliders, and the Easyrig. In short, everything needed to craft a beautiful and far-reaching video.
IF YOU CAN THINK IT, I CAN CAPTURE IT.
